Blog: Engagement Sessions and Weddings, 2011 to 2012
From the archive
The blog served as a running diary of sessions and weddings. The entries below, most recent first, give a flavour of the work.
A French elopement in New York (August 2012)
A couple travelled from France for a small, private wedding in Manhattan. The mass was held entirely in French, with only three guests in attendance besides the couple. Afterwards they toured the city with the photographer: Lincoln Center, a train ride, the Staten Island ferry, and a visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park. The groom was so taken with the Statue of Liberty that he had a small tattoo of her done. Read the full entry.
A Chinatown engagement, parts one and two (September 2011)
Two people who grew up in the same Chinatown neighbourhood somehow never met until one night outside a Baxter Street landmark. That location became the setting for their engagement session, which ended up as a walk through the area with locals and a first taste of longan fruit, sometimes called dragon eyes. See part one and part two.
A Vermont wedding (August 2011)
A same-sex couple who had moved from New York to Colorado married in Burlington, Vermont, at a science centre overlooking Lake Champlain. The groom’s father officiated and the couple jumped the broom. Their wedding was also featured on a wedding blog. Visit the entry.
An engagement in Los Angeles (August 2011)
A short post showed a handful of engagement pictures taken in the Silver Lake neighbourhood, including a bright red hair bow. See the post.
The first post
The first entry introduced the photographer and her approach: colourful, inconspicuous coverage meant to feel as magical as the memories. Read the welcome post.
